False Induction

Apparantly the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg was taken over by a mass of pregnant women in labor. The hospital called late Thursday afternoon and said they wouldn't be able to take any induction labors because they were full. So, all the "voluntary births" were canceled.

So needless to say, there is still no Baby Bownds. The induction has been rescheduled for possibly Tuesday, for sure Wednesday, if we don't naturally go into labor before then. So, everyone keep your fingers crossed, and we'll let you know when it happens.

39 weeks and only 2 days to go..

With 39 weeks down and only a few days to go Mommy is very anxious to get this show on the road. The anticipation is just about to kill me. I am so ready to get this little bundle of joy here for all to see, and to know if our bundle is a boy bundle or a girl bundle.

Dr. Harris says everything is looking great, and that at this point I am a ticking time-bomb.
I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced, and could go at anytime. I also held strong on my weight this week coming in at 157 lbs., that's 21 lbs over all. Am I lucky or what?

Garrett and I will be checking into the hospital early Friday morning, and should be proud parents by Friday evening. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I guess these will be my last belly pics.

Almost 39 weeks

38 Weeks and Counting Down...

Baby and I had our 38 week check-up yesterday, and doctor says (again) that everything looks great. I am dilated 2cm. and have a very favorable cervix. Dr. Harris thinks I could go into labor at any point. She is putting me on the hospitals schedule to induce on July 27th, but she is doubtful that I will make it to that date. We are scheduling that in order to avoid me making my due date and delivering while Dr. Harris is on vacation. But hopefully Baby Bownds will decide to come on his/her own... soon. The idea of baby arriving any time now has me very anxious to get on with labor and delivery and ready to meet our Baby Bownds, though I know I am really going to miss having this little one all to myself.

Nursery Photos

The nursery has really come together since I got my glider and bedding. It actually looks like a good place for a baby, and I guess it's a good thing because we're going to have one very soon. I can hardly believe that we're already at week 38, and baby could arrive any time. Anyways, here are a few pictures of the nursery. Thanks to Paula and Debba for the beautiful bedding, and Tiggie for the Glider. And thanks to Mom and Bunny for help with the initial decorations, I'd still have blank walls if it weren't for you guys. Love to all.

37 Weeks / Work-In-Progress

I had my 37 week appointment yesterday, and Dr. Harris says everything looks great.
Baby Bownds may even be a bit ahead of schedule. I am still only 1cm dilated, but Dr. Harris says she doesn't expect me to go full term. She thinks we'll have this baby before August.
Since last week I've gained another 3 lbs. since last week, totally 19 lbs. so far, and Baby is approximately 6 to 6.5 lbs. I am still feeling great, and I thank goodness for such a wonderful pregnancy.

Also, our house is really coming along. The inside and outside walls are all framed up. I am not exactly sure what the next step is, but it is looking great.

More Belly Pictures

My sister, Misty, has been hard at work for months researching pregnancy pictures. This past weekend we put her research to good use by having a lengthy photo session is my mother's backyard. She did a great job on all the pics, but I am only posting a few of my favorites.
Thanks Misty, Love you.

Baby Showers

It was a very busy month of June. My lack of new postings were due to Baby Showers, a trip to market and more frequent doctor's appointments. And I am starting to realize it may never slow down. Baby Bownds is scheduled to arrive in just four weeks, and there is still lots to do.
I don't know what I would do without the support of my friends and family.

I have been showered with love and gifts, and much needed advice. Thanks to the hostesses for organizing two absolutely wonderful showers, and to the guests for taking time to attend and showing your love and support. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful group of people in my life.

Here are a few pictures from the events... Please don't judge me for wearing the same dress to both showers.. haha..

This gift from my cousin, Tyler, would not have gone over as well at my Austin shower.
Baby Bownds is already able to represent all of the three major Texas Universities, thanks to Tiggie, Tyler and Reagan.
